Donald Trump’s campaign manager will visit Alberta in the New Year.
Kellyanne Conway will tour oilsands operations near Fort McMurray before meeting privately with business leaders on Jan. 12, according to a Tuesday news release.
Conway’s visit to Alberta comes one week before Donald Trump is sworn into office.
President-elect Trump has hinted he would support the Keystone XL pipeline but would seek a “piece of the profits for the United States”. He invited TransCanada to reapply for approval as part of his campaign platform.
The pipeline, which would connect Alberta’s oilsands to refineries on the Gulf Coast, was rejected by the Obama administration last November after the president claimed it was not in the U.S. interest.
Conway ‘s visit is sponsored by the Alberta Prosperity Fund.
