The Calgary Flames wrapped up their road-trip in Brooklyn, taking on the Islanders Monday night.
Not a lot of scoring action in this match up.
John Tavares made it 1-0 Isle, just 8 minutes into the 1st period at Barclays Center. That would hold for the next 40 minutes or so.
The Flames would find the equalizer in the third period. Sean Monahan found the back of the net about 6 minutes into the final frame to knot things up at 1-1.
This game would need overtime.
Thomas Hickey, a Calgary-product, snuck a tipped backhand pass for Tavares past Brian Elliot in the extra frame to grab the win for New York.
The Flames now head back to Calgary.
They’re home to the Leafs on Wednesday.
Puck drop at 7:30.
