Close to 24,000 teddy bears rained down on the ice at Saturday’s Calgary Hitmen game and today is delivery day.
The stuffies will be distributed among 60 local charities.
Jacob Lapointe, with the Hitmen will be helping the team bring smiles to kids at the Children’s Hospital.
“It’s nice because those kids go through a lot being at the hospital. It’s a great feeling being able to see the smile on the kids’ faces after you give them that bear.”
It took about 15 minutes to get all the stuffies off the ice following the Hitmen’s first goal at the annual Teddy Bear Toss.
Michael Zipp’s goal came with just 13 minutes remaining in the first period.
