The Flames outlasted the Blue Jackets in a tight match-up Wednesday night on the road.
A scoreless first period lead into a middle frame when the Flames started to pull away. They killed a 4 minute penalty on a Matthew Tkachuk high-stick. After the big kill, Troy Brouwer scored to give the Flames the lead.
That would hold into the third period, when some special teams magic struck again. On the power-play, Micheal Ferland, product of Swan River, Manitoba, scored to add the insurance marker. That would be the final score.
A 34-save shutout for Chad Johnson.
The Flames continue their road-trip in Boston in Friday.
Puck drop at 5:30.
