Premier Rachel Notley continues to defend the way her government is dealing with power contracts.
Earlier this year, the NDP launched legal action to try and void a provision in power purchase arrangements that allowed companies to cancel money-losing contracts.
The NDP is also looking at bringing in legislation that would retroactively abolish the provisions and Notley is still not ruling that out.
Calgary Mayor Naheed Nenshi said earlier this week that such a move by the province would be nuts and it would show the world that Alberta is basically closed for business.
Notley’s government has said that the provision in question was unlawfully enacted under the previous P-C government.
