A suspicious vehicle that fled from a marked police cruiser at a roundabout in McKenzie Towne has been located in Edmonton.
Police had issued a plea to help locate the blue Dodge truck after an officer grew concerned for the welfare of a young girl in the vehicle who appeared to be in distress.
Investigators say the officer approached the truck to offer his assistance after he noticed it stopped at the roundabout. As the officer instructed the driver to roll down his window, the truck drove off.
It was seen headed north on Deerfoot Trail before striking another vehicle at the off ramp to 130 Avenue S.E.
Calgary police were notified after RCMP stopped the truck on an unrelated matter near Edmonton.
Both the driver and the young girl are in good condition.
Charges are pending against the driver.
