As Calgary’s unemployment rate hovers around 10%, the NDP government is selling its Alberta Jobs Plan, which was introduced in the last budget.
Economic Minister Deron Bilous says the plan is working to create jobs and diversify the economy.
He says between August 1st and October 31st, Alberta’s economy added 25,000 jobs.
Bilous says the programs implemented through the plan are building infrastructure, diversifying the economy, driving business growth and increasing investment in Alberta companies.
The Alberta Jobs Plan includes initiatives like the $34-billion Capital Plan, Petrochemicals Diversification Program, small business tax cut and enhanced capital through ATB Financial and the Alberta Enterprise Corporation.
