Interesting to see we had two grumpy coaches in charge of two Calgary franchises unhappy for the same reason on Thursday.
At the ‘dome, Glen Gulutzan threw in a fun little skate at the end of practice, while at McMahon, Dave Dickenson was tearing a strip off his guys. In both cases, it was all about focus, or the lack thereof.
“I didn’t love the practice today.” said Gulutzan.
“I don’t like watching bad football, I don’t coach bad football…..it was a bad practice,” said Dickenson.
If one team could be excused for having a harder time locking in, it’d be the Stamps. this’ll be week 15 without a bye, with a looong break coming up. It’s also been close to a month since the Stamps played a game that mattered in the standings. Still, no excuse. “When I have people basically not knowing what they’re doing, that means they’re not studying, not getting coached enough. We gotta be better.” says Dickenson.
Same sentiment from Gulutzan. “We’re still below .500. We can’t rest at all, we haven;t accomplished anything yet.”
Different ends of the season, same sentiment. I hope both sets of players are paying attention.
