Traffic has been getting through again on a single lane of the Trans Canada Highway near Field B.C., but there will be more delays today.
Motorists are being warned of a three hour closure of the Trans-Canada west of Field Friday afternoon as crews work to remove more of the rock and debris from the road following a major rock slide on Monday.
A portion of the slide was cleared Thursday to allow traffic through but motorists are still encouraged to take the alternate route to Golden using Highway 93.
Drivers on Highway 1 can also expect a slow ride through the affected area, with speed reduced to 30 km/h.
Workers were drilling holes for explosives when 10,000 cubic metres of rock and debris came down, injuring two of them. The scaling work was being done to prevent slides from happening.
Updates on the stretch of road can be found at Drive B.C.
