Government House Leader Brian Mason outlined the NDP’s agenda for the upcoming fall sitting of the legislature.
Alberta’s climate change plan will be front and centre when politicians return to work.
Mason says legislation will be introduced to further the government’s commitment to the environment, including a law to cap oilsands greenhouse gas emissions at 100 mega tonnes a year.
There will also be more details on the plan to move away from coal-fired electricity towards renewable forms of energy.
The province has promised to end all coal-fired electricity generation by 2030.
Mason says there will also be two new tax credits to spur the economy and an update on job creation initiatives.
The fall sitting of the legislature kicks off next week.
