A Calgary senior was attacked in his home Tuesday in a brazen home invasion in the city’s northeast.
The victim’s nephew said his 62-year-old uncle was home alone when a robber confronted him at around 3 p.m.
Chung said paramedics responded, but his uncle didn’t need hospitalization after being bear sprayed.
The robber grabbed keys to a 2013 Hyundai Sonata parked in the garage and smashed through the door, using the vehicle as a battering ram.
Police are searching surrounding neighbourhoods for the suspect and the stolen vehicle.
Family were gathered at the home to comfort him and help assess damage at the Castleridge Road home.
The police investigation continues.
