A Calgary man was attacked in his home Tuesday in a brazen home invasion in the city’s northeast.
The 62-year-old victim was home alone when a robber confronted him at around 3 p.m.
His nephew Kevin Chung talked to Global News.
“He broke in, he used a can of bear spray, spraying it right in my uncle’s face. It’s totally red and messed up.”
Chung says the suspect demanded money and any other valuables.
The robber grabbed keys to a 2013 Hyundai Sonata parked in the garage and smashed through the door, using the vehicle as a battering ram.
Police are searching surrounding neighbourhoods for the suspect and the stolen vehicle.
Family were gathered at the home to comfort him and help assess damage at the Castleridge Road home.
The police investigation continues.
