The pilot of a single engine Beechcraft Sierra 35 is expected to survive after the plane crashed into a cemetery in Medicine Hat Saturday.
Emergency crews were called to the scene at around 8:30.
The pilot, a 64 year-old man, was taken to hospital with serious but not life threatening injuries.
The Transportation Safety Board is investigating what may have lead to the incident.
The cemetery is one kilometre away from the airport and sustained only minor property damage.
