The Calgary Flames lost another one at home, falling to 1-3-1 on the season, taking on Carolina Thursday night.
The Hurricanes got the board for the first three goals, coming from Teuvo Teravainen, Victor Rask and Viktor Stalberg as Carolina pushed hard in the first 30 minutes of the games.
Calgary started to make some plays and began to comeback. Troy Brouwer picking up a big goal late in the second, which was followed by a third period marker by Johnny Gaudreau, his first of the season, to come within a goal. That’s as close as they got, with 2 penalties takenb by Alex Chiasson and Brouwer very late, giving the Canes a 5-on-3 opportunities which Jeff Skinner scored on to seal the deal.
The power-play continues to struggle for the Flames, going 0-5 including blanking on a 4 minute major in the first period. Their PK was 6-8.
The Flames continue at home with a date against the Blues on Saturday.
