RCMP have charged a Camrose, Alta. man in the 2014 homicide of 20-year-old Jessica Wyoma Lynn Boysis.
Boysis’ body was found in a treed area behind a Wetaskiwin business on Friday, July 18, 2014. She had disappeared three days earlier.
An autopsy determined Boysis, who was from Maskwacis, Alta., was the victim of a homicide.
RCMP said members in Wetaskiwin, the Major Crimes Unit South and the Forensic Identification Section worked on the case for two years and investigators pieced together evidence leading to the identification of a suspect.
On Friday, Oct. 14, 2016, John Joseph William Profeit was arrested in Camrose and charged with one count of second-degree murder.
Profeit is scheduled to make his first court appearance in Wetaskiwin on Nov. 1.
