Last game the Calgary Stampeders clenched the west final at home and are first in the west and the league and tonight was no different as they extended their winning streak to 13 and undefeated in 15 this season. Mica Johnson had 2 sacks by the 8 minute mark of the first with the Stamps leading by a single point 1-0. Deron Mayo was carted off the field with what appeared to be an injury to his right leg, Glen Love came in for him. At the end of the first it was 2-0 for the Stamps.
A very uneventful second quarter when it came to scoring, with Montreal’s defense making it near impossible for the Stamps to score. But with one minute left Anthony Parker had an 11 yard grab into the end zone for the first major of the game. Add the extra point and it was 9-0 for Calgary at the half.
It was another strong defensive quarter with the first score coming from Calgary with a field goal making it 12-0 Stamps.
And again with minutes left in the 3rd the Stamps came through with a touchdown from Andrew Buckley. Add the 2 point convert to make it 20-0 for the Stamps at the end of the third.
Calgary opened scoring in the fourth with a 2 point safety. And after the 3 minute warning the Al’s countered with 2 to finally put some points on the board. With 20 seconds left on the board Montreal found the end zone to make the final 22-8 for the Stampeders. Head Coach Dave Dickenson now has the most wins for a rookie head coach and broke the previous CFL record.
