The challenges will come flying at coach Dave Dickenson in the next three weeks. He needs to keep his team sharp, avoid injuries, rest players and have the team peaking for November 20 in the West Final.
These may look, at first glance like, conflicting goals. In reality, they are not. The team must do their best to ensure they have the maximum healthy bodies to chose from in the West Final. Let the players decide who plays—not the injured list.
To that end, you may see some players sitting or having their workloads reduced. Guys like returner Roy Finch, running back Jerome Messam and others may be less utilized down the stretch.
That is not a problem in my mind. The best regular season record would be nice. The individual milestones are impressive. However, the scenario most remebered after 2016, is whether this team wins the Grey Cup.
