Former Israeli President Shimon Peres has died two weeks after suffering a stroke.
He was 93 years old.
The Nobel Peace Prize winner is best known for pushing his country toward peace with the Palestinians.
He shared the prize in 1994 with Yitzhak Rabin and Yasser Arafat.
Prime Minister Justin Trudeau says Peres was a man of peace and a great friend of Canada.
Trudeau, along with a growing list of global leaders including Prince Charles and US President Barack Obama, will attend Peres’ funeral.
His body will lie in state at the Israeli parliament before a state funeral Friday.
