Who would have thought that a nap could lead to so much more?
While laying down with her Great Dane Rufus, Jennifer Graham had a thought, this according to Cuddle Clones Co-Founder Adam Greene.
“It would be great to have a stuffed animal of Rufus! Not a generic stuffed animal, but one that was 100 per cent custom-made to look JUST like him,” Graham states on the Cuddle Clones website.
Graham’s dog passed away, but that idea never left her mind.
Greene says that’s when Graham began searching, and found only hobbyists could create a plush version, for a hefty price. Not finding what she wanted, Cuddle Clones came into fruition in 2010.
A cuddle clone “is a custom stuffed animal…made to look exactly like your pet,” says Greene. “Whatever pet you might have we’ll make a plush replica of that pet.”
To create these plush animals Greene says they need several photos, you can also tell them if your pet has any standout features such as scars.
The company also gives you the option to choose the eye colour, ear, mouth, and body positions.
“I was looking at some of the examples online, and these are really, really close,” says Bruce. “How many seamstresses, or sewers do you have?”
Currently there are 43 people working at their workshop says Greene.
The typical wait time for the stuffed animals is six to eight weeks.
