Questions are being raised about whether a police-involved shooting incident at Marlborough Mall on the weekend could have been prevented.
Multiple sources tell Global News the accused in the case had been taken to hospital just days before the incident after being apprehended by police under the mental health act.
A police officer was seriously injured by a machete and a suspect shot and wounded Saturday afternoon at the mall. The suspect has now been identified as 24-year old Antonio Phillip Bautista. He faces several charges including assaulting a peace officer.
