A christian educator, ordered by the province to comply with laws allowing gay-straight alliances in schools, has fired back with a letter from his lawyer.
Alberta Education confirms receiving the letter, but they are not releasing the details.
The province ordered Pastor Brian Coldwell to provide a written assurance that he would allow G-S-A’s in the two private christian schools he oversees in the Edmonton area.
The schools are publicly funded, but Coldwell says it’s his duty as a pastor to block the G-S-A’s.
He has equated the rules to religious persecution.
The province will respond publicly to the letter on Monday.
