Two men will stand trial in a nearly decade-old murder investigation.
Pirtpal Singh Jhajj was killed following a gunfight between two groups of people in Chestermere in May 2007.
A year ago this week, RCMP announced Sanjit Ranhu and Amaritpal Singh had been arrested in connection with the death.
Alberta Justice confirms that following a short preliminary hearing this week, Ranhu has been ordered to stand trial on a charge of first-degree murder, while Singh will face trial for second-degree murder.
Lawyers will now begin the process of setting trial dates for the pair.
