The Taxi and Limousine industry in the city will need to be significantly restructured with new players coming into the marketplace.
Former Alderman Gord Lowe, who now sits on the advisory board that oversees the taxi industry. says there also needs to be an inclusion of regional interests.
Lowe also says he’d also like to see TLAC, (Taxi and Limousine Advisory Committee) be independent of the industry.
He says there can be votes held where sitting members of the committee can vote on an issue that affects them.
Lowe says the current terms of reference and governance of TLAC are ten years old and need to be reviewed.
