“The fans won;t allow this to be another regular game….nothing about it’s a regular game.” So says Micah Johnson as he gets ready for a potentially long Monday after of chasing Mike Reilly around. Labour Day’s always a good time, but once again folks, this one really matters.
Time to go out on a limb: I say if the Stamps can sweep Monday and comeback Saturday, first place is all but locked up in week ten. Think about it. The stamps would be two wins better than the Lions, assuming B.C. wins next Friday in Montreal. They’ll have won the season series with every team, with only more date with Winnipeg left on the Western part of the schedule.
This team needs the sweep. After winning labour day last year, they dropped the final two regular season meetings to the Esks. That was the tiebreaker that gave Edmonton top spot and the bye they parlayed into a winning trip to the Grey Cup. These 4 points mean everything.
