It’s another sign of a return to normalcy three years after the floods.
Mary’s Corner Store in Bowness is expected to open early in September after sustaining massive flood damage in June of 2013.
The store located on Bowness Road and 60th Street NW almost acts as an entry way into the community.
The store’s history in the community goes back to the 1940’s.
Area councillor, Ward Sutherland says the re-opening of the corner store, along with Bowness Park, is giving residents a sense of life going back to normal after the devastating floods of three years ago.
“It’s a small business but it’s well loved and it’s been there for a lot of years. It is iconic and people are going to enjoy it again and it just brings back the uniqueness of Bowness.”
