Two members from CPS have been relieved from duty with pay and two others have been assigned to administrative duties after one person received serious injuries following an arrest.
The incident occurred around 8:45 p.m., Saturday, July 30th around the 6700 block of Macleod Trail.
It happened during a traffic stop.
The driver of the vehicle stopped the car, got out and then ran from the officer. After a foot chase ensued several other officers arrived in the area and began to search for the suspect.
The man was located a short distance away and was taken into custody, however, as a result of several serious injuries sustained during the arrest, the CPS notified the Alberta Director of Law Enforcement.
An in-car camera from the police cruiser raised concerns over the conduct of the arrest.
The investigation into the event has been taken over by the Alberta Serious Incident Response Team.
No charges have been laid at this time and the status of the two members will be reviewed in the next seven days.
