A warning for those thinking about taking a dip in the Elbow River this weekend.
Alberta Health Services says fecal coliforms are still being detected in the river, between Sandy Beach and 9th Avenue SE.
You’re being told not to drink the untreated river water, as those organisms can cause vomiting and diarrhea, while the current levels could also cause skin, ear and eye infections.
AHS initially sent out a warning about the issue on July 8th, but it didn’t include Sandy Beach or Stanley Park.
Signage has been posted in that area, warning people about the risks involved.
