A 61 year old Calgary man is facing child exploitation offences in connection with a Lethbridge teenager.
Laurence Bouwmeester was arrested at his home on Tuesday by Alberta’s Internet Child Exploitation team.
ICE alleges he was engaged in an inappropriate sexual relationship with a 14 year old boy after they met online.
The relationship progressed to physical sexual offences which took place over two years.
The relationship came to light when the victim’s parents found sexually explicit messages, photos and video’s on the teen’s computer.
ICE seized a number of electronic devices and computers from Bouwmeester’s home.
Investigators believe there could be other victims and anyone with information is asked to call local police, or cybertip.ca
Bouwmeester is facing a string of charges including sexual assault and interference, luring, as well as making and accessing child pornography.
