A big day at the Alberta Children’s Hospital for patients and staff as windows were getting washed by a special group of 4 superheroes.
“I can see them, I can see your friendly neighbourhood Spiderman!”
All eyes were looking up at not only Spiderman, but Thor, the Incredible Hulk and Iron Man at the Alberta Children’s Hospital on Wednesday.
Children inside the facility waved at the superheroes, some getting high-fives through the glass, while staff were busy taking photos.
Outside Melanie Nielson and her kids, nine-year-old Ethan and six-year-old Ryley watched.
Ethan was hit by a truck five months ago and the prognosis was that he wasn’t going to make it, but he’s proved to be a superhero.
“Ryley, what’s Ethan’s superhero name?” she asked her son.
“Awesome Ethan,” the youngster responded.
“He’s got his own cape that says ‘Captain Awesome’ and he’s got shirts made up and caricature of a super hero as Awesome Ethan,” Nielson continued.
Nielson says things like this make such a difference for the kids giving them happiness and joy out of something that would be an ordinary event.
