Christopher Darryl is still nursing a gash on his head that needed 30 stitches, after an unprovoked attack in the SW community of Silverado.
He says he just arrived from a public speaking engagement, while his teenage daughter and her friends were hangout in the basement.
A few of them left to go to the store at 1 a.m., when they were harassed by a group of young men down the street.
Darryl went out alone to find out what was going on, when he was hit over the head with a bat and swarmed after a brief conversation.
He tells Global News that the crack of the bat was the most horrific sound he’s ever heard in his life:
“It was six or eight inches wide. I think I got 30 stitches—both surface and internal. It was so graphic you could see the bone in my head.”
Calgary police are investigating and are still on the hunt for the suspects.
