Residents in the city’s northwest got a look at what 20th Avenue could look like in the future on Saturday.
The City held a Street Lab Party, giving residents to try out a number of potential community improvements such as bike lanes.
Two blocks of the roadway were blocked off and the City put up some example bike lanes, some with parking and some with barriers alongside them to give residents a feel.
Jen Malzer, transportation engineer working on the Pedestrian Strategy for the City says residents really enjoyed the event.
“People like the tactile approach. We’ve added some fun elements, there’s food trucks. We’re trying to reach some of the goals of the Pedestrian Strategy.”
The Pedestrian Strategy was approved in May.
