An 86-year-old woman is dead after drowning in a pond in a SW Calgary seniors’ community, Trinity Lodge.
Alberta Seniors’ and Housing Spokesperson, Trent Bancarz, spoke with Global News and says there will be no investigation by his organization:
“We would view this as an independent senior living in their own house or an apartment or a condo. It’s the same situation.”
The retirement facility is privately owned and does not receive government funding.
Police suspect the incident was an accident.
