A gold medal for Canada Tuesday night at the Olympics-this time in the men’s high jump.
Derek Drouin of Ontario is the first Canadian in 84 years to win athletics medals in back to back games, after winning bronze in the event at the 2012 London Olympics.
This time he cleared 2.38 metres in his first attempt to earn the title.
Drouin’s medal brings Canada’s tally to 14. The track and field team has three of them.
