The province has unveiled plans to help small businesses impacted by the massive wildfires in Fort McMurray.
Two recovery programs have been unveiled, one providing up to $20,000 to cover costs, including new equipment, property damage and cleanup.
The RM of Wood Buffalo will take the lead on the second program, aimed at providing cash for wages and labour assistance.
Mayor Melissa Blake says the funding will allow the municipality to address business owners’ needs head-on.
It’s believed upwards of 4,000 small businesses were affected by the wildfires.
