Jason Kenney start your engine, your Ram Dodge engine that will be driving you around the province as you campaign for your next political job; leader of the Progressive Conservative party.
The same Jason Kenney who is MP for Calgary Midnapore and will stay there until October 1st when the official race for the PC leadership begins. Last month when he announced he was running for the job he made it clear that he wouldn’t resign as MP because he still had work to do for his constituents. He’s obviously fitting that in between pit stops on his Unite Alberta Truck tour. Hopefully he’s not distracted driving replying to those constituents.
Not sure who Mr. Kenney is fooling. He’s obviously got one thing on his mind, leading the political right in Alberta, however that looks. His time as MP is in his rearview mirror and he should resign his seat immediately. There are no rules that say he has to step down while seeking political office at another level but Mr. Kenney has been at this game long enough to know that optics are everything. Driving around Alberta soliciting donations for his leadership bid while still sitting as an MP doesn’t look good no matter how you spin the wheel.
