City council is looking at options to address parking issues at LRT stations, especially those at the end of the lines.
As it stands now, all the free spots are taken well before 8am and many of them are taken up by commuters from outside the city.
Council has voted to ask administration to look into the feasibility of satellite park and ride lots outside the city limits with shuttle bus service to the downtown.
The idea from councillors, Pootmans, Demong, Sutherland and Magliocca asks that administrators work with members of the Calgary regional partnership and the province on such a plan.
Transportation GM Mac Logan believes there could be capital funding available from the province for such a project.
A report will come back to council in the early part of 2018.
