The cool, wet weather has reduced the wildfire hazard in many areas of Alberta.
As a result, the province is lifting its ban on camp fires, open fires and off-highway vehicles just ahead of the May long weekend.
However, the ban remains in effect for the Lac La Biche and Fort McMurray areas, which are still extremely dry.
People are being told to be very careful with any flammable materials in all areas of Alberta.
Meanwhile hopes for days of rain in Fort McMurray have been dashed by an updated forecast.
Now the only day firefighters can expect rain is on Sunday, and it’s only a 40 per cent chance.
