Whooping cough has struck a Calgary school.
Alberta Health Services has declared an outbreak of the illness at Waldorf School in Cougar Ridge.
Officials say eight of 19 cases of whooping cough, or pertussis, in the city so far this year are being linked to the school.
A total of 59 cases reported in the Calgary zone in 2015 and 33 in 2014.
Additional immunizations will be offered at the school, while officials add the general public isn’t considered “at risk”, although they say it serves as a reminder about the importance of immunizations.
