Four of five dogs are not in favour of hugging?
It’s a matter of safety is what Bruce got from a story which quoted Professor Stanley Coren, a canine behaviour expert from the University of British Columbia’s Department of Psychology.
“They did a lot of research and they say dogs look distressed when people hug them,” says Betty Jo.
Bruce says there wasn’t a lot of research involved. Betty Jo asked if Bruce’s dogs have ever like hugging, to which he said no.
“Research done, enough said,” says Betty Jo.
Coren says give your dog a treat, not a hug.
