Calgary Police have now laid a manslaughter charge in connection with the death of a man outside a Copperfield liquor store late last month.
In the evening of March 24th, three men had a confrontation outside the store on McIvor Boulevard SE. It’s believed one of the men punched another, causing the victim to lose consciousness and hit his head on the pavement. 37-year-old Peter Nassichuk was taken to hospital in serious condition and died from his injuries several weeks later. Police then upgraded the case from an assault to a homicide investigation.
31-year-old Rico Alan Properzi has been charged and will appear in court April 29th.
It’s Calgary’s fifth homicide of 2016.
