Two firefighters are in hospital after being hurt while fighting a wildfire northeast of Edmonton.
The men are said to be in stable condition.
Wildfires are also forcing people from their homes in some communities west of Edmonton.
Parkland County has issued a mandatory evacuation alert for people who live in and around the hamlet of Duffield, while residents of Clear Lake have been told to be ready to leave on short notice.
There are 35 wildfires burning in the province right now and four are out of control.
The wildfire risk is rated as extreme in much of the province due to below average snowfall and above normal temperatures this winter.
