One of the historic Centre Street Bridge lions is being restored and moved.
The lion will turn 100 years old next year.
But it, along with two others, has been sitting in storage since around 1999.
The city says it’s time to change that, and will move the sculpture to Rotary Park by March.
Arts and Culture Manager Sarah Iley says it will take 6-8 months to restore, before moving to its perch overlooking its old home on the Centre Street bridge.
“They’re very fragile and we wanna make sure we preserve him,” Iley told reporters on Monday. “We’re not trying to give him a facelift. We just want to make sure he’s preserved, looking great at 100.”
The estimated, all-in price tag is $400,000.
