As News Talk 770 told you on Friday, the city’s preferred option to get the Green Line through the downtown and up Centre Street is through a tunnel.
City officials confirmed that choice Monday morning, after reviewing five options to move the train through the downtown.
The underground option will be costly, at approximately half a billion dollars.
The train would run underground from the Beltline to Eau Claire and 2nd St West and then under the Bow River. It would come back above ground at 20th Avenue and Centre St. N.
The route the train would take through the Beltline , be it 10th, 11th or 12th Avenues, hasn’t been determined.
The issue goes to a city hall committee this summer.
