The economy will be front-and-centre in what could be dubbed a “state of the province” address by Premier Rachel Notley.
She will take to the television airwaves at 6:45 Thursday night.
In a statement, Notley says she wants to talk “directly to Albertans about what we’re up against,” and to walk through the plan to get through the oil price collapse.
The cost for producing and the air time involved for the 15-minute address is estimated at $90,000.
The video also comes one week before the province is set to unveil its budget.
We will be carrying the address live on 770AM in Calgary and online here.
Meantime, Political Analyst Lori Williams, from Mount Royal University, says the premier is likely choosing the taped address so her message can get out unedited.
