City council appears to be having a tough time finding a new chair for the Subdivision Development appeal board.
Council usually makes citizen appointments to boards and committees in October each year but it was in December that council decided to hire an outside consultant to look for qualified candidates to be the new chair of the SDAB.
Now they’ve come up with a terms of reference in how to select a candidate.
The SDAB is a quasi judicial board, independent from the city where residents can appeal planning decisions.
Rick Grohl has been chair since 2001 and when asked if he was being pushed out by council, Mayor Naheed Nenshi says no, Grohl is ready to move on.
Nenshi says the chair has been sharing the load much more with other members of the committee and the process is moving as it should.
