The boy that was the most seriously injured in February’s fatal accident on the COP bobsled track is now speaking out about his injuries and struggles.
Eight teenage boys crashed, killing twin brothers Evan and Jordan Caldwell, when they hit a barrier after sneaking into the facility to ride down the track on plastic sleds.
In a video released online by his church, Caleb Hettinga speaks about his ordeal and how his faith is helping him through it. “One thing that I learned through this experience is that God never leaves you alone to suffer through an experience like this.” He adds that he’s staying positive. “A lot of people would probably get really depressed after something like this, but I’ve really felt peace and hope through this.”
Hettinga is now back at home, but still has a long road to recovery.
